Not a good race at all for me. But I talked to Coach afterward, and something I really could work on is being more mentally strong. I need to not let the little things (hard time breathing, hurting legs, etc.) get me down. BE POSITIVE! I'm really gonna work on it, and go into every race, workout, run, etc. with only positive thoughts.

Carli and I ran this one together, and it really helped me to push. Last week when we did these I had a really bad breathing problem and felt like I was going to die, so I was nervous to do it this week, especially adding another hill on top. But I only thought positive things, and the workout ended up being great for me :) I was able to do all 5 hills, and it felt really nice. Carli and I went back under the overpass and on main street, and when we got back to the high school, everyone was saying, "We were just getting ready to come look for you" "where've you been?!" etc. But, Carli and I still had 2 hills left when the girls were done, so that took time, plus we stopped at the park on the way back.....so it just took us a little bit longer

Felt pretty nice. Was able to push through this one. During striders Carli really helped me reallize some things to work on with my form. Especially the motion of my arms. Instead of swinging them across my body side to side, I need to keep them going forward and back.

Las Vegas Invitational (3.2 Miles) 00:25:37, Place overall: 31, Place in age division: 1 | | am-race!
I really, REALLY wanted to walk out of this race with a medal, but I ended up far away from that by the end of my race....but overall, I'm super happy with my race. It wasn't very good place or time wise, but I feel like I was able to push really hard the whole time. It was sooooo hot! I was dying, but tried to just focus on something else other than the heat. I caught myself a couple times letting myself settle and get comfortable, but the second I realized it I kicked it up a notch. I felt pretty good after my race, just super hot. I felt alright for about 20 minutes after, I was just super tired. but then when everyone was out getting lunch, I ate part of the sandwich I brought, and felt like I was going to die. I got the worst stomach ache, and then I got a headache, and I was starting to feel really dehydrated. I tried to get some fluids into me, but it just made my stomach hurt worse. The bus ride home was miserable because I was not feeling well and it was so hot. But I when I got home, I just took a nap and that helped a lot. I still have a bit of a stomach ache, and it's hard to breathe. But I do feel good with the race. I'm happy, and it was sooo worth it! Great job to everyone! We totally dominated :)
