| | am-easy 3 with yoga afterward. I got a super duper bad cramp during the 3 miles, and fell off a bit from the big group. But it felt soooo nice to get out this morning.
pm-4 miles ice house trail run with 8xstriders. The ice house trail felt super nice. The hill was a KILLER! I almost fell so many times I couldn't keep track, and on the way down I actually hit the ground once....kinda embarrassing
I wore the wrong socks today....so I managed to get 2 blisters today, one on each foot, and they hurt pretty bad....hopefully they'll go away and be better soon

| | easy 3 to arctic cat :) 4x200s afterward.
Felt really, really super sore today.....I iced and that helped a lot. I'm excited to race tomorrow. I have high expectations for myself for the race. I hope I can achieve what I am hoping to.

Hurricane All-Comers (1 mile) (1 Miles) 00:07:05 | | Ran the 1600 and the 800. I was supposed to do the 4x400, but sadly, it was cancelled. I'm not sure about my times for either of the events, (I just put a time in the box that I think I got around) but I expect them to be not so good...I didn't race very well. I need to get back into the feeling of it all, mentally and physically. I really struggle sometimes with going harder, when I feel like I'm going as hard as I can. But this race was a good learning experience and helped me to notice what I can work on this season. | Add Comment |
| | harts warm/cool with 4x1000s. I wasn't too happy with my times today, but I pushed hard so I guess it's good. 4:36, 48, 49, 56. I didn't really improve with each one at all, so my goal for the next time we do repeats is to get faster with each one.
weights after
Man, today was a good run. Carli and I had a blast as we touched about, 11 random subjects on our cool down. It was quite interesting....

| | This was my first tempo EVER! I can't come to practices on Wednesday, when we usually do tempos, so this was my first. It went a lot better than I had expected. Headed out toward Washington Fields, ran with Carli. When we started the tempo I fell behind a bit, but then ran back with her. | Add Comment |
| | 2x800s @ 1600 pace. My time was about 3 30. the first one I got a 3 35, and my second was 3 30. It felt nice, and this workout really helped me realize some areas in my running that I need to work on. | Comments(1) |
| | 1.5 warmup with 1x1000. I had to go to piano....but my time was pretty good for me. 3:32, I think that's my best one.

| | 4 miles down to Sullivan Park with the guys, 8xstriders. I fell behind, but knowing where I was supposed to be helped push me harder.

| | 4 miles up with the level 3 girls, Liz, Meskerem, and Alli. I kept up pretty well with them, and when I fell behind a little, I was able to get back up soon. Felt like a nice hard pace for me. 4x200s after. Then some hand-off practicing.

| | I had to be home by 3 45 to get some stuff done, so I did an easy 3 before I headed home. Felt really nice.

Hurricane Invitational (2 Miles) 00:14:59, Place overall: 38, Place in age division: 6 | | I was soooo nervous for my race today (3200). As I started, the first two laps were really strong and I set a good pace for myself. I was scared I was going to die out later, but I was able to keep the pace, and get progressively faster. My first mile came in at about a 7 18, not the best, but good for still having to go another mile. The middle couple laps are usually super duper hard for me, but today I was able to keep myself going strong. A girl from Millard was a little behind me most of the time, and she really helped push myself and keep my speed. She gained a little distance on me on the last lap, but I was able to keep my lead and she didn't pass me.
I'm pretty happy with my race today, I'm super excited to get working even harder and get some improvement in this season.

| | easy 4 with 4x200s after. Me, Carli, Megan, and Taylor B. did handoffs for our 200s because the 4 of us are on the team for the 4x800 tomorrow. I have some high goals for myself for the event I'm racing, and I'm super excited to race.
Oh, and my shins felt a little better yesterday and today. Still hurt just a little, but better than at the first of the week. I've been icing more than usual so that it doesn't get any worse.

Pine View Invitational (0.5 Miles) 00:03:03 | | 1 mile warmup. I ran the second leg in the 4x800. It was, Megan, me, Carli, then Taylor B. We finished under 12 minutes :) with about a 3 minute average. I felt super strong during this one and I was able to keep a good speed. This was definately my best race this season. This was my first running with a 4xteam. Our handoffs were clean, and it was all pretty good.
